End of Key Stage Two Results
In their final year at primary school (year six) children undertake national examinations (SATs) in May (which are reported to schools in July). These assessments in reading, writing and maths provide some information about the ability of the children in that cohort - who have now left their primary school. You can see how well the children from Risley School did, relative to other children in other schools, on the government website below.
In 2024, 70% of the 20 pupils in our year six cohort reached the government's expected standards in reading, writing and maths combined. Nationally, 61% of children reached this combined benchmark. Also 5% of our year six cohort (one child) reached the "higher standard in reading, writing and maths." Nationally, 8% of children also attained this more demanding standard.
Children's marks on the tests are changed into a standardise score to allow comparisons between tests over time. The expected standard in score of 100 and the higher standard is 110. The mean average standardised score for reading at Risley School in 2024 was 105 and the score for maths was also 105.
Unfortunately, due to Covid there were no tests in English primary schools in 2020 or 2021 and, as a result, there are no progress scores for any school for 2024 or 2025.
